What is it you are choosing to invite into your life? Not by of our own ultimate choosing, but of our continued active choice we continue to see a world split into two; the world we have always known (what was given to us by God) and the world we have always seen (what we created ourselves).
As has been said countless times by teachers far greater than me, unless it is love nothing “seen” / “out there” / in our field of physical vision exists. We were created out of love, we are love, whether we choose to rest and resolve in that fact or not. In this lifetime we either choose to ascend to that rest and resolve, or we descend into the “out there.” Fortunately for us, we have many more lifetimes to figure it out. Every moment we choose to spend in stillness and spirit, our true self leaves a trail of little, luminous stones to remember where we have been on this journey. In our next lifetime, inevitably we will follow the wrong path and find these reminders to gently help us recall that we have lived and loved and failed and will ultimately find our way. Our story has been written from the beginning and we will find ourselves again.
What we choose to invite in is completely under our control. We all can choose, right now, to surrender ourselves to the cosmic force that keeps all in equilibrium. After all, that is from which we came.
Or, we can live in the “out there”, collecting things that are ultimately meaningless and unfulfilling. We can allow others, especially through what we choose to consume, to use our minds like a trash receptacle. Everyone leaves a piece of something you do not want. None of it means anything, yet we live our lives as if it means everything.
There is nothing more important than inviting yourself in. Only You are invited. Who is waiting for you there is pure and clean and love. Give your time to stillness. Imagine the most beautiful beam of light, emanating from a sea of all colors, being forced through a keyhole in a door. The door is shut and locked at your direction.
You can keep it that way for as long as you wish, but it does not change what it is. It does not change who you are.
